In a public administration circular issued yesterday, the heads of all public institutions were urged to encourage “working from home” as much as possible. The circular, signed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, MMPK Mayadunne, said that only the minimum staff required to maintain the institution’s regular services should be called upon. at work. The circular ordered all officers’ movements to be restricted and all meetings to be held online to save fuel.

When it comes to making decisions on the summoning of staff to offices that deal directly with the population, the heads of establishments and regional heads concerned have been asked to work in close coordination with the secretary of the line ministry. or the Provincial Chief Secretary concerned.

“Let workers stay at home at all times and receive their contribution through online means,” the circular read. The circular stressed that all essential services must be maintained without interruption.
