BHUBANESWAR: A day after the release of the Covid-19 guidelines for January, the state government amended night curfew restrictions in all urban areas by exempting several essential activities.
In a revised notification on Friday, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) clarified that night curfew restrictions from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. will not apply to serving civil servants, healthcare workers and services. emergency utilities, including electricity, fire, telecommunications, water supply. , railways, port and airport.
The movement of ambulances, public transport, private vehicles and taxis (including taxis from aggregators like Ola and Uber) to and from airports, train station and bus terminals/stops to facilitate the movement of passengers by air, rail and road will be permitted.
The state government also restricted gatherings to celebrate the New Year in offices on Saturday due to the rise in new Covid cases in the state. The Department of General Administration and Public Grievances ordered all government employees to strictly avoid group movements, gatherings and greetings with bouquets of flowers in offices on January 1. Government workers have been urged to use virtual media to convey their New Year’s greetings and to maintain social distancing. .
