UK essential services provider chooses UKG to support rapid growth and empower its 10,000 employees

LOWELL, Mass. & WESTON, Florida–(BUSINESS WIRE)–UKGa leading provider of human resources, payroll and workforce management solutions for everyone, today announced that M Group Services, one of the largest infrastructure services organizations essentials in the United Kingdom and Ireland, has selected UKG Dimensions to support its rapid growth and offer a more transparent and empowering employee experience.

M Group Services employs more than 10,000 qualified specialists and provides services in the water, energy, transport and telecommunications sectors. With 240 locations, 19 operating companies and continued growth through acquisition, the organization was looking for a flexible workforce management solution to support its complex and highly remote workforce, as well as improve productivity and operational efficiency.

“We have a mix of salaried and hourly employees, including meter readers, utility workers, field systems technicians and engineers – many of whom work offsite every day. There’s also a lot of complexity in our business and how we pay people based on the type of work they do,” said Colin Jellicoe, group human resources director at M Group Services. “For years, we relied on spreadsheets to enter our employees’ working hours, which turned out to be cumbersome and inaccurate. Dimensions will automate these processes to ensure we get the right data and pay our employees correctly.

A key driver of the organization’s choice of Dimensions is its ability to integrate with the company’s payroll solution, which M Group Services estimates will save over $1 million dollars in administrative costs.

“Dimensions will allow our employees to control their time by allowing them to log their hours directly into the system,” Jellicoe said. “In turn, this will give us much-needed real-time visibility into working hours so we can bill customers correctly and ensure that every employee paycheck is accurate.”

Jellicoe added that the Dimensions mobile app will provide a more seamless and engaging experience for all employees, which is critically important to the organization.

“We try to make information important to our employees as accessible as possible via our intranet and soon via the UKG mobile app,” Jellicoe said. “We foster a culture where employees use their mobile devices for more than just making a call or texting – we want this to become their main connection to the business and improve the overall communication and engagement we have. ”

M Group Services believes that increased employee engagement will result in increased retention.

“Our goal is to automate as many repetitive tasks as possible through Dimensions. This will allow our employees to focus on more important priorities that not only improve our business, but elevate their roles and add value to their careers,” added Jellicoe, “If we can increase the level of engagement with our employees, we hope to keep them longer and ultimately provide a better service experience.”

“One of the easiest ways to empower your employees is to provide them with intuitive technology that makes their lives easier, and one of the best ways for organizations to do this is to take advantage of an innovative solution workforce management,” said Peter Harte, Group Vice President. , EMEA, at UKG. “With Dimensions, M Group Services will have the most advanced technology available to deliver in-depth operational insights and drive to deliver a more engaging work experience.”
